OUR STORY

One winter night driving back from the city, 11 year-old Greer Mallos spotted a homeless man trying to keep warm. As she watched the man shiver under a streetlight, Greer made her mom promise they'd go back and bring him a blanket and gloves in the morning. And so the next day, Greer and her mom headed back to the same streetlight in the city...with a blanket and gloves in hand.

Although they never found the same man, they did find others--too many others--who needed help. That's when Greer and her brother, Walker, started making their "Winter Warm" kits to supply those living at homeless encampments with things to keep them warm (blankets, gloves, socks, hand warmers, and snacks, to name a few).

A wish to help one man, has since turned into an ongoing mission to provide those in need with not only warmth in the fall and winter, but also items to keep dry and cool in spring and summer. Their efforts at homeless encampments have since expanded to facilities and shelters in the Northern VA and DC area.
